R90

Radius 90 is a radical departure from most satellite speakers in as much as it doesn't look radical. It's a high-class mini monitor, only smaller. In stark contrast to the hard, cold metal appearance of most A/V speaker packages, it has the same sumptuous real wood veneer and lacquer finishes that grace Monitor Audio's reference speakers. The same engineering standards and attention to detail, too, right down to the radiussed corners of the cabinet and high-quality, gold-plated cable terminals.

It may be the smallest speaker Monitor Audio has ever made, but it is also one of the most remarkable. Its clarity, dynamics and imaging abilities have to be heard to be believed. It can fill a room with high fidelity sound yet, visually, melt into the background.

It was with this in mind that Monitor Audio designed the high quality die-cast metal wall bracket supplied with each speaker. This has a very shallow profile and holds the Radius 90 close to the wall, but its wide range of movement allows it to be easily directed towards the listening area.

Each Radius 90, whether finished with real wood veneer or Video silver lacquer, is supplied with black and silver grilles to customise both the speaker's appearance and its match with your room's decor.

R180

The slightly larger 180 has been designed to be sited vertically or horizontally. Its versatility means it can be used as a centre channel in a multi-channel music or movie system as well as a main, side or rear speaker. And just 95mm deep, it's ideal for use with a Plasma screen or in places where space is at a premium. As with all Radius components, the 180 can be purchased individually for maximum flexibility when system building.

Radius 180 has the same specially designed MMP«2 bass-mid driver and Gold Dome C-CAM tweeter as the 90 but these are housed in a larger cabinet with a front-firing reflex port. Its enhanced bass performance makes it an even more suitable choice as a stand alone speaker where a subwoofer isn't required. But combined with the Radius 360 sub, the 180 forms part of a formidably powerful stereo or multi-channel system.

As with the 90, the 180 is supplied with a high quality die-cast metal wall bracket and both black and silver grilles. The real wood veneer and lacquer finishes add to the aesthetic and tactile appeal and are crafted to the same exacting standards as Monitor Audios reference speaker systems.

R360

The remarkable Radius 360 subwoofer punches well above its weight and size to underpin even the most explosive movie soundtracks. But it was also Monitor Audio's intention to design a super-compact sub with the speed, subtlety and pitch accuracy to enhance the highest quality music reproduction.

The 360 succeeds effortlessly on both counts. Its downward-firing 8-inch treated paper cone driver is controlled by a powerful built-in 100 Watt amplifier within a sealed enclosure. This means the 360 can be positioned virtually anywhere in the room with great results.

Naturally, all Radius speakers integrate seamlessly with the 360. But, thanks to its versatile control settings, it's also compatible with most other speaker packages. The speaker level connections achieve optimum performance in a stereo audio system, or where no RCA outputs are provided on the amplifier. RCA stereo inputs and an LFE (low frequency effects) input are also provided for connection to a stereo amplifier or home cinema receiver.

Constructed from 19mm MDF throughout, the weight and solidity of the 360 belie its svelte dimensions. The real wood veneer and lacquer finishes, aluminium back plate and smooth-acting rubberised controls are all part of the quality-led approach that sets Radius apart.
